Hey, so anyone else have skin allergies / conditions with their endo?
I've always had sensitive face skin and thought nothing of it, as I just take extra care of it - no soap facewash, no makeup, careful what I eat etc. But this weekend my endo symptoms came on with my period and so did this odd itchy rash on my forehead and cheeks, which has come up in pre-pimple bumps. Help!
I of course reached for the allergy tablets which usually work - no effect. my skin calming (non steroidal cream) hasn't worked either. So I went to the doctor to see if there's anything he can do; he said it looks like rosacea, and to leave it for a week then come back for treatment options. I hadn't mentioned my endo. Just reading up that they could be linked?
Anyone else have this? What do you do?

I developed rosacea after my Endo symptoms really kicked in 2-3 years ago and I get flare ups with the rosacea, had a terrible one on holiday in November and my whole face was pink and blotchy and covered in tiny bumps and dried out and just generally very angry ( I think a combination of sun cream, extreme heat and salt water from scuba diving triggered the flare up). I researched it and there seems to be a common link between endometriosis and rosacea. I manage my rosacea most of the time but I have pink patches on either cheek that now never go away but luckily can be completely covered with foundation. Sadly rosacea just like endometriosis has no cure and you just have to find what works for you. I’ve tried several different creams now and none have taken away the rosy cheeks
I had a reaction to the suncream, saltwater, UV and sweat when on hols once but luckily it was just my arms and legs - was a sensitivity so expensive antihistamines required. But now you mention it I do sometimes have flareups in the sun and when it's this kind of cold weather.
I know there's no cure - just seeing how others manage it; seems to be a trial and error with natural products. I don't react well to makeup so I can't cover it up It does go in a few days but then leaves my skin all dry.
It sucks doesn’t it and makes you feel really insecure. Weather extremes are usually a trigger as is alcohol, I guess anything that causes inflammation really... much like with Endo. I really resent the rosacea, it’s bad enough being messed up on the inside but on the outside too where it’s so visible is just horrible. I use stuff from a company called therapeutics, they do a roseca range and it’s all natural and it’s great a calming the skin, it’s not cheap but I’ve found it’s the only stuff that doesn’t make my skin feel flushed when I apply it, plus no steroids etc. good luck xxx
Just been back to the docs after a month of trialling metronidazole cream. He says because the spots are still there I'm trying a course (1 month) of lymecycline. Anyone used this?
