Hi Bonnie!

Basically, after thousands of women with endo did a questionnaire that included that very question. They deduced that the average wait for diagnosis from the start of symptoms is 7 years. I was spot on at being 7 years till I fell ill to when I was diagnosed.

Don’t be like me hon. Insist at the very least on a referral to gynae.

You know your body better than anyone so if it’s behaving like it may have endo, you need an exploratory lap. Asap.

I’m not sure how old you are etc or any other details but if that’s what you and your dr agree, go for it.

Just don’t be fobbed off with suggestions of treatments like zoladex injections or any of that crap until you know for certain you have endo. I really wish I had known that about zoladex back then.

Hope it goes well for you chick.

All the best x

Thank you so much......I'm 25 but I've had this on and off now for years of bad symptoms I've had a scan befor and told I have cyst on my right ovarie I have pain during sex not stop bleeding major fatigue I can sleep all day and night and still feel like I need to peel my eyes open and so many more symptoms it's just so hard when you no but don't have a diagnosis especially when your trying to explain how you feel to people like family or partners....I'm defiantly gonna push for it because the last flare knocked me of my feet literally x

I started symptoms at 14... got diagnosed at 21 after being told I had an std for 7 years. Had to pay to go private and as soon as I did, I sat with the woman for 10 minutes and was booked into surgery the next day and diagnosed.

I’m still getting treatment now back on the nhs at 28 but it’s been a struggle to get seen. Currently waiting on another op to remove it.

I would just keep pestering and I found that male gynocologists are the best. Any female one has just told me it was period pains and I was being over dramatic :(

(Not saying all women gynes are bad, just my experience)
