I’m due an MRI scan to check the extent of my bowel endo pre surgery. The paperwork says a cold enema!! I’m a nurse and an enema means certain things to me!

Oh! I've had 2 MRIs now for my endo. The last one was to plan my surgery too but there was no enema. I know there is a procedure where a liquid/gel is used inside to help with visibility, it may be that? I'm not sure what it's called but its definitely been talked about on here. If you have a search you may find it.

Ohh thank you will have a search. I don’t mind the thought of the scan but the enema & apparently gel is a bit scary!

Encase anyone else experiences the same. It turned out to be saline that was inserted into my bowel via a catheter. It was uncomfortable but only mildly and the main issues was ‘holding it in’ rather than pain/discomfort.
