Hi all! I'm very new on this and just looking for some advice! I'm 20 years old and have been suffering for about 3 years now with really heavy periods, mood swings, aches! Stomach cramps! And the worst of all the ovary pain!!! I've been to see my doctor so many times, and up until this year (summer) they kept telling me it was ovulation pain! I've now been referred and had a ultrasound and I'm currently under a gynaecologist waiting for my pre op to remove my 7cm cyst! My gynaecologist has told me she's almost 90% certain i have endometriosis! And that my cyst is a chocolate cyst! She's told me several times my fertility will be effected by this! I'm due for a op to have this cyst removed! If anyone has anything that may help about my upcoming op please feel free to share, as I'm past my self just the thought of it!

Hey, I was 19 when I had my first op. Like you I worried so much, I have a fear of needles and injections and hate hospitals in general. I can honestly say it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I requested numbing gel for the hand injection thing which worked. Then when it came to the actual operation I was out by the time I counted from 10 to 8.
When I came round from the op I was confused as I thought I was at home and I tried (and failed) to roll over. Request painkillers as soon as you can so it keeps topped up. Then tend to try and get you to eat as well (toast more than likely).
Try not to worry too much (sounds silly coming from me as I'm a worrier) but it honestly isn't as bad as you may think. Make sure you wear a maxi dress to the hospital as well as they are easy to put on afterwards when you need to go home and have no tight waist band.
Good luck. I'm sure everything will be fine xxx
Thankyou so much for your reply! How long did you take to get back to normal after your op? I'm signed off work until I get my pre op! I miss going to work so much! π¬
It took me around 7 weeks, but after 3 weeks I went back to cleaning and only managed two hours, so that probably slowed down my recovery a bit. It usually takes around 4-6 weeks, and also depends on how fit you are etc. It's okay I know it can be boring! But it's a good time to try out new hobbies, I've now become addicted to cross stitching haha xx
