I recommend second or third opinions. In what part of the UK are you based? (not exact location, just a rough idea)

Are you quite sure you are with an accredited endo specialist? They are not all brilliant by any means. Laparoscopies only become "a regular thing" if the surgeon is useless in the first place. What method was used to remove it? Was it burnt away by laser?

What plan does he have after 6 months?

Answer these questions and hopefully we'll be able to help you a bit better.

Hi Ohmygee,

I have looked at some of your other posts and I learn that you have been very let down by your doctors. Endo burnt off, lots of painkillers resulting in an ulcer, coil and hormone pills thrown at you, told to take Zoladex...the ultimate cop out. Drugs will only ever treat symptoms and even then not always effectively. They also produce their own set of side effects and risks that doctors then dish out more drugs to work on...creating more side effects...and more drugs. Drugs will never cure us of endo and even if they keep symptoms at bay, there will be trouble down the line.

You sound like a very bright young lady to me and you instinctively know that Zoladex is not right for you. It was explained to you in another thread that the NHS does not permit Zoladex to be given to women under 23. While I agree with that I was unaware of this ruling myself. Please avoid the doctor who is recommending this too you. It's a very dangerous drug especially for a 15 year old but doctors will not admit this because it helps cover up their incompetence. Zoladex is not advisable to take with pre existing anxiety or depression.

In a previous thread you say that your endo was burnt off. Unfortunately this is not a sustainable method for removing endo and will only remove it superficially. It's very easy to use hence its widespread use by lazy doctors with insufficient surgical skills. You need to have it surgically cut out.

So, what to do? Your situation is quite extreme and therefore calls for extreme measures. I will PM you on a couple of surgeons that I feel could help you better than your current team.

I also see in a previous thread that you write "my family are slowly turning their back on me as they seem to be tired of my 'sob story". I suggest you print out/show them the sort of replies you are getting here and get them on board to support you. I really feel for you and I think you sound very strong.

I also see you asked some questions in another thread re diet but got only one reply. I will reply separately on that when I have more time. Also, keep up the yoga. That's one of the best things you can do.

Hi, I was never fully informed about the effects of zoladex. I hap my lap of back in 2012 and then soon after I was injected with the first dose. I would really read up on it beforehand. Although it stopped my pain I was on it for 6 months but do not think you should be on it longer. I am not going yo lie o hated them. I was injected in my stomach and it hurt and left a bruise. And also the constant bad mood it left me in and the hot flushes and also my bad memory I got from it! Luckily it wad only for 6 months! It controlled the pain bit just put me in temporary menopause x

Hello, I agree with the other comments, before of your age I think it's essential that you get a second opinion from an endo specialist given the side effects and the fact that this can only ever be a very short term solution. I'm concerned this doctor doesn't have enough experience. I'd go back to your GP with your parents and request to go to another or a registered endo specialist centre. Good luck!!
