Is an induced medical menopause worse than a natural menopause?

Can anyone tell me does an induced medical menopause with Prostrap have worse side effects than what you would get if you were going through a natural menopause?

Unfortunately there's no definitive answer to that question, as each woman experiences different symptoms and reactions to Prostap, as with a natural menopause. I had 2 courses of Prostap and my symptoms were hot flushes / night sweats, which were bearable as they didnt last too long, insomnia, anxiety and depression. These last side effects were more of an issue, but I took Livial HRT for part of the 2nd course and the symptoms weren't as bad. Other posts on here have been from women who have had horrendous and long-lasting side effects, while yet more may have no probelms whatsoever. Because Protap shuts down your pituitary gland, there is the possibilty of more wide ranging side effects than with a natural menopause, but you have no real way of knowing how it will affect you personally until you try it. If you are considering doing so, I'd advise having the monthly dose to start with, rather than 3-monthly, that way if it doesnt suit you, you don't have as long a wait for it to leave your system. I'd also suggest doing some searches on Prostap / Zoladex side effects on the forum, as there have been lots of posts in the past and you'll find them helpful.
