Hi, can I ask if you've been referred for a laparoscopy? This is the way endo is diagnosed so if your doctor suspects it that should really be the next step. Once they know what they're dealing with then hopefully they could get you some treatment that might improve things a bit. Also, once you know what you're dealing with then it becomes a lot less scary. Remember there is lots of support out there with the Endo UK charity and people on this forum are always happy to share their stories and give advice which can make the whole thing less scary too. x

Thank you for quick reply. I have had blood tests, STI checks. Next is an internal examination to check is everything inside is ok. If it is them laparoscopy next. I am really convinced it's endo- I have pain during sex, pain when passing urine and bowel movement pain. I have a period every 2 weeks for a full week. It's awful. I bed ridden most weeks. I feel light headed and in pain when on my period. Not to mention the ovary pain. Especially my left ovary. Thanks for your help x

That's good you're getting referred for all the tests. It does sound like endo. Hopefully it you can get a diagnosis then a treatment plan can be sorted out for you. I always get pain at my left ovary too, which is weird because during my lap they removed endo round my right ovary (there was none at the left ovary), still not sure why! x

Hey Hun sorry to hear you not been diagnosed yet as I hated that time when I had no answers and just all tests. I can see why your scared but don't be Hun because once you have a diagnosis you can start to find ways to deal with it and hopefully lead a more normal life even if it consists of laps every so often :/ x

I am scared. Mainly because I have been in and out if hospital for 2 years not knowing what is going on. It's hard to have faith in the docs when they don't even know what going on. Fingers crossed I will get answers soon x

Hi it definitely sounds like endo. Ultrasound scans, internals etc wont be able to detect it though. You will need a laparoscopy, you will feel much better once you have had one because they can remove most of it during the laparoscopy. I was fitted with a mirena coil as well to reduce my heavy bleeding and endo as well, perhaps you should ask about this too.

Try not to worry, at least they're doing something bout it now.

Sorry you're having a rough time - I got diagnosed 3 years ago after my lap and got another one scheduled for April 30th. I also have suffered with depression, and with both it really is a struggle as your hormones and mood are all over the place! I personally made the decision not to take any hormone treatment (inc pill / Mirena) as I found these worsened my depression significantly, so now although the pain is worse I feel more like myself, I also found that making small plans of little things to do per day (buy a magazine, take a bath etc) and building that up made it easier to cope than trying all the time to be active and putting a brave face on. Sometimes even though its hard seeing your friends and having an honest chat about how you are feeling can also really help. Good luck xx
