Similar to norethisterone, they are BC pills, and if you have been told to take them back to back with no break that can delay your periods so they only happen 4 times a year instead of monthly.

It is 1st step, though it won't cure or stop endo, if you do have endo, it might make life a little easier to take back some control over your periods.

Even if you do have endo and sugery for it, you still need to be stopping your periods with BC Pills or Mirena Coil etc anyway.

i haven't taken Loestrin, but I have taken norethisterone which is one ingredient of the pills, and with norethisterone you cannot miss any doses as it can trigger a period, so they are a nuisance. I have the mirena coil which has stopped my periods long term and no faffing with remembering to take tablets every single day.

See how you get on, and if they do improve things for you. If they don't, then don't be shy, go back to your GP and push to see a new gynae and push for a diagnostic operation to actually check for signs of endo inside you.

I've been on Loestrin for 4 and a half years and personally its been the best pill for me, only recently that i've been suffering with any pain. At least your gyne is trying something new :) xxx
