Has anyone else had their CA125 checked? Mine is 619 today and I'm freaking out.
CA-125 elevated: Has anyone else had their... - Endometriosis UK
CA-125 elevated
I assume that's a blood level but have no idea what CA-125 relates to? If you can explain further then someone might be able to help you
It's classed as a tumour marker
Normal readings should stand at below 35
But can be raised by Endo, cysts, polyps, ovarian cancer etc:
The blood test is not classed as reliable for ovarian cancer as anything going on in that region can raise the level - and completely freak the patient out!! Mine was 169
It does show however - something is not right
If we don't have enough to worry about already!!

CA125 shows a levels of inflammation in the abdomen. Yes endo, especially presenting with choc cysts, can cause it to raise. Mine was up (not as high as 600+ though from what I recall but I still went into slight-panic-panic mode) and went down after my lap and excision surgery. I hope your Dr is speaking to you as to what happens next? Was it checked because of endo? Best wishes.
I'm defo in panic mode which I know is silly as its not a proper indicator of cancer. I'm just worried in general as I've never had so much pain with my endo before. I have a cyst on left ovary and cystic left. Urinating and moving bowels hurts too.
I have MRI scheduled before my surgery so hopefully that will put my mind at ease.
I'm definitely coming back as a man!! X
I get my contrast MRI result on thurs and have my surgery on 27th August. Fingers crossed.
