First Heavy period in Ages :-( I'd rather give birth 50times ova than deal with this pain!! Only got cocomdal 30/500mg left and
Sorry I can't give any specific advice, but sending my sympathy.
I always find stopping dairy, caffeine, wheat helps. As does a hot water bottle.
Have you got anyone who has got some ibuprofen you can have, or can go to the shop for you?
Call your doctor first thing and see if they can give you codeine or tramadol: I personally find it better to take paracetomal, ibuprofen (preferably mefanamic acid instead), tranexamic acid, and plain codeine through the day - I never have any good results with co-codomal or dihydracodine, they just make me feel poorly.
If it gets really bad you could try calling your GP and seeing if you can speak to an out of hours doctor - the hospital could help, but probably unlikely to give you anything other than tramadol or codeine.
Good luck x

have you tried mefenamic acid thats supposed to be good for period?
and yes these tablets co codamol 30/500 do nothing for me either
Hi there,
I'm going through it at the moment and have just had my prescription for medications after the consultant wrote to my GP.
I'm on mefanamic acid, 30mg co-codimol + 500mg paracetamol. That seems to take the edge off when all combined, for me anyway.
Hope you managed to find something which worked.
