Neuropsychiatrist recommendation

A friend was diagnosed with auto immume encephalitis a number of years ago and recently relapsed. There is permanent damage to a part of her brain. We are keen for her to see a Neuropsychiatrist as part of treatment to help with the stress she experiences on a daily basis which has resulted in behavioural changes. Can anyone recommend a Neuropsychiatrist in the London or surrounding home counties? Would greatly appreciate any info, or indeed if this a route that any of you may have travelled and could offer advice on? Many thanks 🙏

Absolutely! If NHS, then I can recommend Dr Elizabeth Galizia at StGeorges, Tooting who has cared for me wonderfully for almost 3 years and is in the highly-resourced Neurology dept. They are also linked to Nuffield Neurology at Oxford Uni and networked generally at the highest level. If private, then Dr Foster at Parkside, made the original diagnosis for me. He then referred me to Dr Galizia. I would try to get a referral to her or that dept.

Sorry, I read this again (better)! A Dr Jacob Bird, also at St Georges would be the Neuropsychiatrist probably recommended by Dr Galizia. He also look after me very well. If she had had a relapse though, perhaps best to start with Neurology first and treat medically as well and behaviorally. Your friend is lucky you are looking out her. It's not obvious how to best self-help with this condition, so advocates are necessary.
