A while back I wrote about how the after care I have had since discharge from hospital , occupational health dr video calls weekly and home visits , neuro physiological dr video calls and now I have a face to face meeting with neuro physiological dr outside for a walk coffee and bus journey, with the intention of regaining confidence in travelling part, I really cannot fault the aftercare I have had through all this, even my own registered gp practice has been amazing with random calls etc, the biggest help of all was when I signed up to this page community the information and advice has been great, just so good to talk about things that others may have experienced or similar things , even those hard to explain symptoms after effects everyone knows what your trying to explain, guess I am saying a big thank you to everyone on here for sharing the things they have

After care
Hi Heavychunky1
You have put a smile on my face, great to hear a lovely recovery story. Thank you for sharing
😀
Hi HC1,
What a lovely post! I agree with you this forum has been a great source of knowledge and empathy.
It is also a forum of inspiration; I still smile when I think of your recent post about driving, such an uplifting story and how great that step was.
Take care
Mel
Arh thats how we all feel glad you find it just as helpful
Hey HC, it's been just as great to read your posts and be a part of the forum. You make me laugh too. There few positives in Enc. but meeting the people on here and enjoying the stories and feedbacks has been a big positive. Hugs and tears along the way. Ha ha!Keep it up! Best Wishes G2
Your gp has been excellent and it’s sp good you will be able to talk to someone about the struggles you’re facing and will face in the future. I know that I have happy positive days but still some days are difficult although they are honestly less and less. Keep going forward.
Thank you as well. Your posts have brightened my day and helped me too!
It's been fun trading tales with you, and also great to share our experiences as we navigate through the post encephalitis journey. At times a lot of it can be quite annoying, as is your most recent saga of dealing with multiple doctors, appointments, the DVLA, and all the stress that can be had. In a relatively short time, I believe you will once again be the proud holder of a driver's license again! To celebrate, I would recommend a nice later model Mustang GT convertible, like the one I am considering! (Or maybe not! 460HP is quite a bit!) 😇 Please post with the glorious event when it happens!!
All the best to you!! 🏎️🏎️🏎️
I reckon Caterham 7 if you live somewhere with a dry climate. Hurray
Wow, I didn't know such a vehicle existed! I have selected a top of the line 620 in my favourite color! Now all I have to do is raise a few quid for a down payment!! Perhaps I will see if the government will pay for it as a "therapeutic aid device", like they do for electric wheelchairs!! (Ok, maybe that's a bit of a stretch!!)
Heavychunky1, sorry if I am intruding on your post a bit. I truly believe that if you, G2, and myself were ever to meet in person, we would end up getting into quite a bit of trouble! 😆
Wow, great post HC I reckon you've brought a smile to many faces.Hurray for the powers of recovery!
Eeeh you got me laughing!
Wow the glorious news has arrived!!! This must be one of the greatest days in a long time for you!! From over 3500 miles away, I applaud your courage and perseverance in this successful pursuit!!
If car fumes result in an increase in testosterone, I guess I better do a lot more driving to see what happens! 😂
Congratulations again, and I hope you get a chance to celebrate in some special way, even though a Caterham 7 is too expensive for the time being!! Since they are available in kit form, perhaps the factory will sell you the "7 insignia" badge on the radiator intake. That's about all I could afford right now!!
Have a fun weekend!!

It has been a good day getting that information back, it was an ongoing issue since start of June, and having to jump through all hoops that they wanted, 4 different types of medicals and neurology report I eventually get the good news, so much of a weight finally lifted of the shoulders in a way with that one less stress issue,
