A little random question after encephalitis while in hospital I was given omaprazole . Still taken this now 2 times per day. Since April , Just wondering ha anyone had any issues with this over a prolonged period of time ? Thinking of annoying my local doctor about this but that usually results in a don’t worry about case
Spoke to doctor yesterday as I had developed constant nausea and some vomit over last 17 days, so now being prescribed another tablet which is not a ppi and to stop taken omeprazole, and the kicker is provide a stool sample and 4 weeks time attend and get camera down throat to check for any acid erosion , both her and myself are still confused as to why I was placed on them to begin with , but she is checking for gut infection

That doesn't make sense, I have been on omeprazole for about 3 years if not longer and some people I know have been on it for a lot longer. You get different advice from different doctors.
I also have an acid reflux, I have had it for about 7 or 8 years and I take Lansoprazole 30mg twice a day and apparently my profound OCD triggers it off when my anxiety is sky high but also my anti-depressant is partly responsible for it but I need that for my refractory OCD. I find that when my anxiety comes down a bit and try to keep quiet when it's at its worst all those things are really helpful.
