Adrenaline reactions are caused by Mass Cell Activation Syndrome. He was right in telling you this info. Lidocaine rarely works on individuals with MCAS due to the fact that it is triggered from an autoimmune disorder such as Dysautonomia. This stems from a connective tissue disorder, typically one of the 13 types of EDS. There are treatments for MCAS that will allow the anesthesia to do its job. Usually a prescription level antihistamine will do the trick and offer you some much needed relief. Also, TMJ (another biproduct of this) could attribute to your jaw pain. I have learned to pay attention and relax my jaw more throughout the day but ultimately I can thank my antihistamine for providing relief from that as well. I hope this helps.
