Am I odd or do I really show symptoms of Elhers-Danlos?

Hi I haven’t been diagnosed, but a few years ago a hospital nurse suggested I look into Elhers-Danlos because she thought I showed signs. I looked it up briefly and it always stayed in the back of my mind, but I had other problems to think about first as I have back, leg and foot issues. So dispute having problems with my back I used to be able to bend down and place my palms flat on the floor without bending my knees (my belly gets in the way these days!). My elbows have always bent backwards and when I lock my knees they kinda go backwards. Are all of these symptoms of the syndrome or am I just a little bit odd?

These could be signs of hEDS or HSD. And the 'other problems' could be caused by hEDS too. You could take the RCGP toolkit link to your GP and ask him to give you a working diagnosis. Go through the toolkit yourself and tick off the things you have and it will give you an idea of whether or not it is.

They sound like the syndrome yes. Some people have pain throughout their joints, some don't. despite being flexible, as you age you actually get tiff and less flexible ironically. It can also affect internal organs. i have gastroparesis as a result but some people are lucky and don't have further issues. Good luck.
