Cfs, altitude sickness similarities

Reading a mountaineering book I was struck by how similar cfs is to altitude sickness.

ME,CFS lists insomnia, dizziness, fatigue, headache, feeling sick, fast or irregular heartbeat, as well as joint pain and flu like symptoms.

Altitude sickness lists sleep problems, lightheadedness, fatigue, headache, nausea, rapid pulse, as well as shortness of breath and appetite loss.

Altitude sickness is basically lack of oxygen and air pressure, and with this in mind I've been experimenting with really deep and slow breathing, trying to get as much oxygen into my body as possible, just for a few breaths before normal breathing again, but doing it whenever i remember... If anyone is willing to give this a go and share their experiences, I'd appreciate it!
