CKD stage 4

Can someone tell me if there are many ill effects at this stage? I started taking dizzy spells a few weeks ago. My doc reduced my Losartan but this has not helped. I had a heart monitor for 24 hours but results are fine. I get nauseous and now I'm starting to itch, mainly on my legs. All these effects are getting me down wondering what next.

I would go back to your GP as there is obviously something affecting you , dizzy spells i would put down to low blood pressure or lack of fluids as a general rule. The itching could be down to diet , try reducing things like potates (unless boiled) Tomatoes, salt. The consultant or gp can give you tablets for the nauseous feeling .

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I suffer from hypertension and my bp 135/84. Doc says its fine. Your suggestion about diet could be spot on. Although I don't eat many potatoes, I eat a load of tomatoes, the little ones you can pop in your mouth and eat in one swallow! I eat by the bucketful. My potassium levels were ok last blood test so looks like you could be right about my eating habits.. Many thanx.

Itchiness could be your phosphate levels?? Are you watching your protein intake and do you take a binder?

Thanks googie, my phosphate levels are OK at last check. This might sound silly, but what are binders. I don't seemed to be too informed on ckd. Fortunately my local hosp is having a pre dialysis seminar this month then maybe I can ask questions. I feel comfortable asking question on this site and everyone is extremely helpful.
