I take a Piriton everyday to help with the itching, cheapest way to buy them is from a Sainsbury's chemist counter.

Don't buy them in a box of 30, ask for the pot of 500, it costs about £8.50,

I get it mainly when I'm on dialysis and occasionally at night. My specialist has prescribed Loratadine (antihistamine) to take an hour before each dialysis session. I also apply aqueous cream before each session and as and when needed any other other time. I get this from my dialysis ward and both treatments do seem to make a difference, if I forget them my dialysis sessions are pretty awful :(
