Did you google blood test AK1? Call your Dr or a nurse to explain the test results.

AK1 is a test done on red blood cells to evaluate a rare type of anemia. But I think perhaps you mean AKI which stands for "acute kidney injury."

I think Bettys Mom is right when she said it stands for Acute Kidney Injury but you need to check with your doctor. Good luck my lovely!!

I also had this flagged on my blood test results, it is Acute Kidney Injury but the GP could not identify what caused this just that the kidney function had dropped dramatically to 36 which indicates an 'injury'. I have no idea what had caused this either other than being diagnosed recently with Fibromyalgia

Is there a connection between fibromyalgia and kidneys?

No idea but I had been having symptoms of Fibro for some time before diagnosis (by GP only) & obviously pain causes the creatinine levels to rise so could well be?

Well I learned something new about pain. Thank you

No, pain does NOT cause creatinine levels to rise.

Well whatever it means since that extreme high blood test and a blood test follow up my GP and renal doctor must be in contact or have been put on monthly blood tests. Though the second one came back stable for me and my average creatine level 170. I know at beginning of year my flow rate was getting low and had 3monthly blood tests. Just waiting for the third blood test results in 6 weeks. So hopefully still stable but in general I'm totally tired every day I could sleep though have good night's sleep at least 8 hours and can still want to sleep during day.
