Does anyone know of a good dietician that can help me understand what I am supposed to eat? There isn't anyone in my area that handles ckd. Person does not need to be in my area, we can Zoom. Thank you

This site has a directory in the USA:

CKD Kidney Dietitian Directory:

sites.google.com/view/ckdrd...

Also a good source of information, advice & support:

kidney.org/Cares

Based on personal, bad dietician experience plus reported "commercial influences" for governing body of dieticians, I recommend qualified Nutritional Therapists instead. I'm happy to send you some links from which to choose one, if you wish.

My mum has benefitted massively by following a NT protocol eg eGFR almost doubled in 6y.

PS can send link re commercial influences too.

Thank you. Please send links for NT and commercial influences.

Please see below 2 links for qualified NTs (I suggest CNHC registered too ideally):

A link on the corporate capture of dieticians' Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is here:

What is NT protocol?

A protocol set by a qualified Nutritional Therapist. It should be personalised.

Good luck with that. My experience in the UK is pretty poor. They did not even have a copy of my blood test results. All the dietician did was go over obvious stuff like don't have salt, avoid food high in phosphate etc. Complete waste of time for me. You would be better off looking at a reputable kidney site and seeing what they suggest.

Hi KajNybom just notice your post. There is a very good Facebook group called Plant Powered Kidney that is run by renal dieticians and is free to join. Although the focus is on wholefood plant based diet you can include small amounts of animal protein It is full of useful ideas and is very supportive

Check it out!
