Born with one kidney stage 4 ckd

I have had monitoring of my kidney function for the last 10years started of at stage 2/3 I think. I have always gone by my blood creatine levels which which are for me average between 165 to 176 average. The highest ever level was 222 when I had my daughter nearly 4 years ago.

Recent blood test check came back 196 and my gfr rate which the renal clinic goes by had dropped to 23.

Obviously I'm quite concerned as I asked how bad is this or what next as as stated in title I have only 1 kidney from birth. Currently on no other medications for renal function.

HI Ruth,We cannot diagnose for you. I would call your nephrologist. What was your GFR before? GFR can fluctuate a lot from lab to lab. A significant drop is something to be aware of and another test should be done soon to see if that level was just a fluke or you GFR has dropped. Make sure you are hydrated well and that you do not do a lot of strenuous exercise the day before the test.

Yes will be doing another blood test in a week or so and have found out they can also do urine sample collection from the blood test building rather than trying to get to gp by silly o clock so hopefully that will be more accurate in line with blood test results. But have notice more tired of late and even though clean washed skins feels sticky is this also a sign?
