Hi. I personally have not had this condition, but my son did. while not a common condition it does happen. I understand that about 10% may get this and it is usually without pain or discomfort nor causes any problems. Here is a link to a good article on the subject:urologyhealth.org/urology-a...
Both my husband (now on dialysis) and my son had varicoceles. Both had surgery to fix the problem and recovered well - no issues. My athletic son actually had surgery for it when very young (12 or so) since the lopsidedness (right side) of his testicles concerned and bothered him. I suspect it might be somewhat genetic in our family.
