that's only a call you can make. Do you have other health issues? How old are you? What meds are you on. All these things need to be factored in. And what you do, is it essential?

Hi and good morning, I am a 68 year old male, my meds include Ramipril, Adizem, Doxososin, Atorvastatin, pramiprexole and aspirin along with Ranitidine and Mebeverine.

Magpiegan,

Give your doctor a call and decide together what would be the best course of action for you as they know your health issues well.

If what you do is essential, they can also recommend special precautions to take while you are there.

Let us know the outcome.

CKD compromises your immune system as does age. Whatever you do take care of yourself and protect yourself any way you can.

The latest news is that a high proportion of those who contract Coronavirus lose the sense of smell first, before any other symptoms manifest.

We in NZ have no option with a total country lock down about to happen in around 36 hours for initially 4 weeks. Community transmissions are just starting to happen here. It sounds likely the border closure will be extend to including all returning citizens as well soon. We wait to see. This country is playing hard ball with no tolerance to those who don't conform to the regulations. Fortunately the pantry is full and the veg garden still has some crops remaining.

Hi Magpiefan! My advice would be yes, very much do self-isolate. Really, everyone should be, not just those of us with weakened immune systems. Where I am, we are basically being almost threatened by law, if we don’t do our best to self-isolate! Lol! I say that with a small chuckle, but honestly, isolating for now is not just for our own safety, but it is also important for those we would be interacting with.

We are being encouraged to only go out for essentials. In fact, most non-essential businesses have been, or will be, shutting their doors today. It’s been said. Many people are becoming a little frantic. And I must admit, this is starting to worry me as well.

I think, until this is figured out a little better by the medical community, this is how it has to be, unfortunately. I wish you well. All I can say is try your best to only go out and interact (from a 2-metre distance, at least) with people for necessary reasons. Other than that, just stay indoors. My hope is that after a while, this will all die down. Let us pray! Lol!

Take good care of yourself, and God bless. 😊👍

You should receive a letter or text from NHS to tell you to self isolate.
