39 diagnosed with CKD via IGA, GFR fluctuates between 28-20 and in the care of a nephrologist/GP for high blood pressure. Play Rugby League, and 6ft, 16 stone, cardio wise I’m fit but I’ve been on Propanalol, Amlodipine & Doxasozin for 4 weeks to get my BP down.
Bloods all great, EKG was fine, but protein in my urine.
These meds make me feel flaky and tired all the time, worse since taking Doxasozin anyone else had this?

Hi. You titled your post young and fit. But I would bring to your attention you are on three medications, have high blood pressure. This is NOT exactly fit. :). You did not say when you started the meds. But initially taking blood pressure meds can cause you to feel different. Tired, etc. I had the same experience with amlodipine. It made me feel like I was worn out. My head felt different. Not dizzy. But not normal. My cardiologist said to stay with it for 30 to 45 days. And he was correct. The feeling went away. I also found changing the time of day I took it to be helpful. I took it originally at bedtime. But I switched it to morning. It helped. Your metabolism is more active during the day and it helped with the medication. I have in the past had other pressure medications which caused the symptoms you mentioned. I told my doctor and he switched me to a different combination. Mention it to our doctor. Ask him to try something else. There are so many out there that you will find a combination that works best for you. You mentioned protein in urine. It is quite common to take lisinopril for this condition. This would aid your bp and help with the protein leakage. Ask him about it.
You might ask your nephrologist about taking the doxazosin at night. I do that and it helps. But when on meds for high BP it takes about 6 weeks for your body to adjust. The most important think here is to get control of your BP. High BP can lead to more kidney damage, scarring of your heart and of course heart attack and stroke
