New blood work. Egfr is better at 73, was down to 47, creatinine is normal, no more protein in my urine, but

urea is still high. 8.1.

Normal is 2.2-7.0 mmol/L

Iron is low, 10.

Normal is 11-34 umol/L

Microscopic blood in urine. 0.3 mg/L. Normal is negative and

leukocytes are high 500 wbc/ul, Canadian measurements

Uti, I'm guessing but i have no symptoms, burning, frequent urinating? None.

Transferrin saturation is just barely normal at 0.13. Normal is 0.13-0.50

Ferritin is low end of normal at 20. Normal is 5-272.

I'm thinking maybe anemia. Always cold, extreme fatigue.

Could this still be ckd related.

Don't see the nephrologist until mid December?

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi Lauriewarm,

If you are concerned that you may have a UTI or anaemia, maybe it is worth having a chat with your GP and see what they think. Also, you could always call your consultant's secretary and request they run your results pass them for advice.

Best wishes,

I'm slightly confused. You had blood work done and got results. Which show mostly normal ranges now. Your iron 1 point low, urea a little high can be simple dehydration. But combined with high leukocytes could be a simple infection your body is fighting someplace in your body. But my confusion is two fold. One, what did your doctor say about these results?? Why have you been referred to a kidney doctor with normal egfr, normal creatinine, no protein in urine?

My egfr was 47, creatinine was 117 and had protein in my urine.

Im on a drug that has some bad side effects called Amiodarone, due to heart issues. 2 sudden cardiac arrests a month and a half apart and numerous shocks from my ICD. My family doctor referred me to a nephrologist when my egfr was dropping.

2 years ago it was at 109.

My appointment with the nephrologist is in December.
