Hey guys I was having real bad nausea last night and this morning, also feeling dizzy. I had complete loss of appetite. I have a drs appointment today but I’m not sure if it’s because I changed my diet and I hardly ate yesterday or something else. Is anyone else having this problem?

Loss of Appetite
Hello, yes I got this starting at late stage 4 when I was around 17%. I felt unwell in the mornings with nausea and did not feel like eating. Then by about 10 in the morning it would go and I would feel better. Keep yourself hydrated and I find that cheese the night before makes me feel unwell in the mornings. So you may have a similar trigger. My doctors were unable to help me so it was just trial and error.
Might be a good idea to track what you eat to find out if there is something in your diet that causes this. Not eating could be the cause of dizziness.
I have stage 3b CKD. All the things we learn about our disease, we have to do it on our own. The doctors do not help. I have found when I eat high protein food, like my favorite Greek yogurt, I feel worse. I just wish there was a way to get the toxins and waste products out of my system (other than dialysis). 😔
I agree that we have to do it on our own, most of the time. My findings, over the past ten months, are that high protein foods are not best for us. Everything points to limiting protein. I have been pretty strict about low sodium, low potassium, low phosphorous and low protein, and I have increased gfr from 34 to 54. I know that doctors often say that you do not need to do these until you are in stages 4 & 5, however, I am hoping that by doing them now, I will not get into stages 4 & 5.
Yes that’s very true... I was on a very strict diet no sodium no carb no sugar and I was getting so sick, my body just isn’t used to eating like that. I think limiting these things little by little is better.. thank you for your response
remember one thing. You may simple just be ill. When we have CKD (at any stage) I think we have a tendency to relate every moment of our life to the disease even though it does not apply. People have your symptoms in life that do NOT have CKD. I have read many times where someone gets a back pain, who have CKD. They attribute it immediately to CKD, and it turns out just muscular. Or they notice urine which has foam. It must be CKD. But all tests indicate it isn't. They have a day or two where they feel extra tired and associate it to CKD. And the fatigue was due to other causes. Absolutely if you have these "symptoms" more than a day or two, then a trip to the doctor is required. But that is true for anyone. Not just CKD inflicted people. But before any visit to a doctor do not just think the worst. You simply could be ill, ate something bad, etc. Wish you the best.
