Has anyone ever tried alkaline water for ckd ? An if so did your kidney functions improve

Alkaline water and ckd
Been drinking distilled water for nearly 10 years. I don't think it makes any difference either way.
Hi William2018995
I am also very interested in your question, however there is a big difference between water made alkaline and alkaline water made by ionization. Below is an article you may be interested in. It does not indicate the benefits of the latter specifically for kidneys but does indicate other benefits.
I tried it and can tell you that drinking only alkaline ionized water which does taste fine, changed the pH of my urine to approximately 7-7.4 -I found no discernable side effects The product I used is call eEssencia which is commercially available. This water is not alkaline by itself.
As I could not yet find published scientific data on its effect on kidneys, especially for those of us with a level of CKD, I have not continued to drink it as a sole source until I can find some data. There are literature citings indicating that an alkaiile diet is beneficial for CKD but they indicate achieveing the alkaline pH by natural means. They do not mention alkaline ionozed water.
Hope this is somewhat helpful. I hope others may be able to find answers.
