Hi Dean. Just wondering if your urine output has gone down since diagnosis as I have a renal cortex cyst and my urine output has dropped dramatically. Thanks. If anyone else might know why this has happened please chime in. My egfr has gone back up to 92 from 83 when I was diagnosed with ckd-I also have albumin in my urine. Thanks in advance

Hi miehmer,

Hope your well? It's a tough one this. I was diagnosed around 3 years ago or so and I was told not to worry my stats were like a average persons by my gp. I wentered to see my nephrologist yesterday in kendal and I mentioned that I was concerned about my egfr he plainly said WHY? He said it has many factors time of day, how much water you drink, exercise you do etc and he also told me that if you get a score over 60 it's incredibly hard to be accurate. I do alot of cycling about 100 miles a week only started 16 months ago. He said because my muscle mass has gone up slightly my creatinine levels will go up slightly but don't mean my kids are working any less efficient. He said don't worry about egfr's and just focus on creatinine levels because the egfr is just a inaccurate calculation between your urea, sodium and creatinine levels. Hope this helps if there's anything else you need to know please ask. Thanks
