I have neuropathy in both lower limbs. Has anyone any information. My doctor dismisses this as part of being a Type2 Diabetic

For the past 15 - 20 years I have been having a tsp of gd cinnamon mixed in natural yoghurt....heard of this on the tv, it helps stop the nerves in ones feet if diabetic. My feet have stayed the same all this time and the podiatrist took me off the list because 'I was looking after my feet'. Though it won't bring back the dead nerves it can help it from getting worse. Take care....Jennifer

You can actually mix the cinnamon with other things like cream cheese....doesn't mix with liquids....or even porridge, just a case of trying with whatever....even on buttered toast! So long as it's in your diabetic diet. Have a try, I don't actually like gd cinnamon but it is good, helping my feet. Jennifer

Hi there

I struggled with restless legs and burning feet due to neuropathy caused by kidney disease and blood pressure meds. Since I started Lyrica for pain the neuropathy has disappeared may be worth talking to your Gp seeing if you can do a trial on Lyrica. Hope this helps.

Best regards

Christine

Christine -- Thank you for mentioning that neuropathy can be caused by kidney disease. About six months ago I learned that I have stage 3 kidney disease, but until now I didn't know that the mild neuropathy in my left foot could be caused by kidney disease. The next time I see my nephrologist, I'll tell her about my foot symptoms.

if your not diabetic then are diagnosed with neuropathy, various problems can of caused it,so as a sufferer I have the pins and needles/burning sensations and muscle spasms all together and it's such an intense and debilitating problem I've ended up with depression,I've been like this for over 4 years and the problem is its also in my arms and hands, there are numerous meds and it might take you months /years to get something that agrees with you,I had terrible problems some meds, severe pounding headaches, shouting out in my sleep and even a trip to A&E,for a rapid heart beat,so it's not an easy journey,I keep on praying every day that my symptoms would disappear,I have mentioned to folk that stopping drinking is important as if the nerve endings are already damaged this in turn can cause even more pain, and if your on meds it gives them a chance to work,as we all react to different drugs just be aware what your body is trying to tell you,so good luck 🍀
