Cervical dystonia and cervical hernia

Hello my father is 52 and has cervical dystonia since he was 30. Now he was diagnosed with cervical hernia too and we do not know what to do. Our neurologist tells him that the suergery won't help him because it won't hold, while the neurogic surgeon tells him that he should make the surgery. Has anyone had this kind of problem and had a succesfull surgery?

Hi Susan here. I still don't know what dystonia is, I saw the Neuro Dr with my shakes, he took interest in my frozen shoulder and after a medical told jevwhat I'd got ! How can a hernia gave dystonia? It's puzzle to me have you googled it by any chance? X
