anyone live near leicester
Hi, I live in Hugglescote near to Coalville. I have a 26yr old with severe dyslexia and a 13yr old whom I home educate as he also has other learning difficulties along with dyslexia.
Regards
Sue
hi sue,
so nice to know that someone lives close by, that knows what it is like to have dyslexia, my daughter has dyslexia too, shes now at university, and I also have it, at times it brings me down, as i feel it has got in the way, where work is concern, but non the less i worked hard, struggle at times, but ive never given in, or given up as i am not a quitter, its good that you teach your son , and are able to support him with other learning difficulties.
I am from Leicester, close to the city centre, and would love to meet people like myself that understand the difficulties, that dyslexia at times poses, if your ever free and want to meet up for a chat and chat i would very much welcome that, well hopefully for now........ take care and all the very best to you and your son.
Hi both,
At Dyslexia Action we are hoping to set up community groups for parents and young adults living with dyslexia or have a child who has dyslexia. We are helping to set them up in terms of location for ease and the groups can be whatever you'd like them to be - either a coffee morning once a month, or a support group that can meet up online or even a group that as a result of their experience would like to fundraise or get generate awareness.
Let us know if you are interested in something like this and we will help to get one set up and support the group where possible.
All the best,
Danielle.
Hi Danielle just signed up. My son has tuition at DA Leicester and I wondered if there are any support groups local to attend? Regards Jacqui
i would like to set up a group for university students, so that they can get help and support with distillation, is there anyone that can help with this on a 121 basis, who wont charge the earth i hopping there is................. but doubtful
Dyslexia Action has created a webpage listing local volunteer-led dyslexia support groups, active within local communities. These support groups can offer valuable support and information to anyone affected by dyslexia. Whether you’re dyslexic yourself or you support someone who is, joining a local support group can provide the opportunity to meet and talk to others who share or understand your experience of dyslexia.
The purpose of this page is to spread awareness of this form of peer-to-peer support. If you would like to add information about your dyslexia support group to this list, then simply download the 'Support Group Detail Request Form' which you can edit in Adobe Reader, complete the form and email it to Sheila Isingoma: sisingoma@dyslexiaaction.org.uk
To access the Support Group Detail Request Form, cut and paste the following link: dyslexiaaction.org.uk/files...
