5 weeks of lockdown in...
Woops. I only posted this because I didn’t think the earlier one had appeared. Anyone else out there?

I think people have enormous difficulties talking about alcohol problems. Hardly surprising when the word “alcoholic” is widely used as an insult.
If you have no access to alcohol, which you say is your position, I think does make it easier. Many years ago I spent time in Saudi. Alcohol wasn’t available and it was no problem at all.
When you can stop thinking about it, you’re well on the way. Just like stopping smoking.
Good luck and look after your boys.
I'm another one who is here. Joined today for healthy eating tips but saw this group and I'm giving up drinking after binge drinking and blackouts. Only a few days in so thought I'd seek out support!
5 weeks is brilliant! Is there any reason you gave up?
It’s into the ninth week now! At the beginning of lockdown I thought I had a choice between letting myself go by overeating and boozing, or using it as a chance to get fit and clear minded.
Also, by looking after myself more in the last couple of years, I’m on the lowest diabetes meds for 10 years. I don’t want to throw that away.
Good luck to you!! 😀
