Hi I had a massive stroke 3yrs ago, at age 52. My hospital wanted to fly me to Kings in London for surgery but they had no beds. So I had thrombolysis, which thankfully was successful. I recovered very well physically with just very mild weakness on the left side. It has left me with terrible memory issues, so I rely heavily on apps to remind me of things and when to take meds etc. I didn’t do much reading for ages after the stroke, but am doing much more now. However I find when I’m reading that things in the background of the book, suddenly appear in the foreground if that makes sense, does anyone else get this? Everything around the book or kindle suddenly becomes the more prominent thing in my vision, it’s driving me mad.
Also I was advised 3yrs after the stroke I could get my pension reviewed if I didn’t make a full recovery. I have CT reports of after the stroke mentioning ischaemic areas, but unsure how I can evidence memory issues. The memory tests GPS do is more geared towards detecting dementia, does anyone have any ideas on what evidence I could use. Obviously with Covid I haven’t bothered GP.

Morning, I'm going to suggest that you submit the questions to the Headway sep of health unlocked simply because a lot of Yr symptoms are similar to head injury /illness and the forum there is usually much more active than here 😊. I had much more help there after my rare CVST style stroke 🙏
Covid or not, you need him to give you answers. Just because you dont have covid it doesnt mean you dont matter. Better to be preventive then to have another stroke and have worse problems, hugs. Keep us posted. Cindy
