Patient numbers slowing

The good news for those in the renal community ( or about to enter it ) is that the rate of growth in patient numbers is slowing. From a growth rate of 6.5% per annum, this has now dropped to 4.5 %. Some say that this is because early CKD patients are being found and their condition monitored and stabilised before they reach stage 5 ( end stage ). Others offer different perspectives - the NKF would like to know your views about this and what effect the smaller numbers are having on the provision of treatment. Start a discussion lets know what you think - ask a question if that is more appropriate ?

Will the rise in obestity and diabetes make a difference to the rate of growth in the coming years? I understand diabetes is sometimes associated with CKD.
