It's difficult some times to miss activities because of doing five days of dialysis weekly.

we can schedule around the activities but it's still can be burden. But it keeps me alive to do the things that I can do. It is want it is.

If you are in Heamo Dialysis then, you can do the following to get better, efficient and optimal outcome:

1. Reduce the quantity of 5 to 3 or even 2.

2. Increasing time of each session maximum to 4 hours.

3. increase surface are of dialyser to 2.1 or 2.3.

4. Use high flux dialyser.

5. Increase blood flow upto maximum 350 ml/min.

6. Try to adjust yourself to lower level of water down to 700-800ml/day.

7. Take less phosphate rich food.

8. Take Phosphate binder with each meal.

Thank You.

Hi Doreen,

I was on PD for two years, 4 times a day, so you are on your own that way vas well, not a problem for me as it gave me an hour to relax on my own.

I now do home heamo for a 4 hour period 5 times a week, time just flys, catch up with emails and do some work while I am doing it.’

Ad for transplants the average wait if you are lucky enough to be called is around 3.5 years.

If you have been ofvtge list for any form of illness it will be your pd team that will let you know when you are ok to be reactivated.
