Right one, left one, how long have you been having the pain, any medication, how did this happen?

it might be frozen shoulder, which occurs rather commonly among diabetics.Common symptom is you cannot lift or move your hand without unbearable pain.it is not a serious condition and can easily be set right if you consult an orthopedics doctor, preferably in a general hospital with a attached physiotherapy lab.But first confirm that it is frozen shoulder via google search.I had this condition once with unbearable pain and restricted hand movements. It disappeared completely after I went through the procedure mentioned above.

Adhesive capsulitis (AC) has a prevalence of 2% in the general population, but is reported to occur in 10 to 29% of those with diabetes. Studies have shown it is caused by glycosylation of the collagen within the shoulder joint triggered by the presence of high blood sugars.

A diagnosis of frozen shoulder can be distressing, especially given the length of time it may take for resolution of the pain and stiffness. Whether treated or not, the majority of frozen shoulders improve on their own over the course of 6 to 12 months, but sometimes it can be up to 18 months.

Please call your doctor and schedule for an appointment for the earliest date. You may be given a prescription for physical therapy. Did you hear a popping sound? Please let us know what you find out soon.

I had similar problem. While doctors administrated steroid and suggested surgery some exercise by a physiotherapist solved the problem. Now the pain had gone

Frozen shoulders can be improved by doing exercise with Shoulder Pulleys which are normally available in shops which sell medical implements. Applying one of the many pain relieving OTC gels which are available would also help. However, the pain does not vanish completely and your should will never retain its original painless condition. I have a tendency to sleep on the left hand side to avoid acid reflux. This too may be a cause for left hand shoulder pain.

Please contact orthopedist surgeon. He will give proper advise. I was advised to lift one liter of water bottle on each hand and exercise. Both hands front straight then up to on your head then bring down from side. This is one round. Do it for twenty five rounds daily.

Also give hot pillow pack on the pain place. It will give relief.

Shoulder pain is definitely curable, but you need to go see a doctor to figure out what's going on, because you can be having pain from a number of different things. It could be a sprain, tear, break, strain, or just sore, but before you jump to conclusions, you should have it looked at. In the meantime, you can implement yoga, which is known to be wonderful for pain management. I found this article with a few exercises that you can try on your own: openfit.com/9-yoga-poses-to...
