I was wondering if Dairy and it’s products have any bearings on triglycerides rising
Triglycerides : I was wondering if Dairy and... - Diabetes India
Triglycerides
Triglycerides are a function of excess carbs in diet, that get converted in triclycerides in the liver through a process called De Novo Lipogenesis (DNL) and then moved to the blood stream from liver to be moved to fat cells for storage. Diary typically tends to spike insulin higher both due to the presence of lactose in some cases and due to protein spiking insulin.
So dairy does impact triglycerides
Carbs elevates the triglycerides, simple for everyone. How much is enough and at what point it elevates is relative and varies person to person and usually lower for diabetics. My tolerance is about 30-50g / day, your might be higher or lower. Diary aggravates the elevation. When elevation is not triggered, aggravation of elevation is negligible.
some full-fat dairy products can elevate triglyceride levels.
