Dr Mercola has been shouting against Aspartame, Sucralose since more than a decade now:

D Mercola even called sucralose Sweet DDT.
This just proves that we don't have to wait for these researches and listen more to people like Dr Mercola, though some self professed learned people here consider Mercola and others as roadside doctors, because he talks against the "elite club" and he talks about real healthy foods (read saturated fat, virgin coconut oil as one of them). Though, the self professed gentlemen who are against Mercola and others here would not even know the history of G D Searle, the company that pushed Aspartame through FDA, using political clout. It's all about money!
Give them a few more years and even the "elite club" will start talking about saturated fat as healthy and high carbs as dangerous. We will be years ahead of that research, just like we are ahead on aspartame and SWEET DDT when we dumped them 
"elite club" = so called experts on nutrition and those pushing these poisons to diabetics along with high carb low fat diet.
Self educated diabetics go off these deadly poisons by themselves based on what other diabetics who live the healthy lifestyle say (besides tonnes of praise for users like anup, medfree who introduced LCHF to this forum and were trolled by many averse to the very idea of managing diabetes on less drugs):
