Her readings seriously high. The doctor must have prescribed medication. She should follow strictly. Also,as a diabetic of 20 years,I have some general suggestions which you may take note of.These are my practical experiences, but you should gain thorough knowledge about diabetes from various sources.

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder which is a result of the pancreatic gland in

our body either producing little or no insulin or the body has developed resistance to insulin. In both cases, the body cells do not receive the glucose needed for production of energy because insulin is essential for glucose to enter the cells. This results in the blood sugar levels to increase beyond acceptable levels, though your body cells are starved for glucose. This condition is very bad for our well being and over long term may result in severe complications.

Controlling blood sugar levels is a tough job but it is not impossible if you realize that everything is in your own hands. This is so,because though you may get good advise from doctors and dieticians,it is ultimately Y O U that will have to take all the necessary steps to successfully control diabetes. I am giving certain general suggestions based on my personal experience which you may consider and adopt based on your personal choice.

Diet plays a very important role in managing diabetes. You should reduce intake of foods that are rich in carbohydrates like sweets, rice, wheat, other grains ,potato, beet and other root vegetables rich in starch. You should eat more of vegetables, sprouts, greens and salads that give you lot of fiber, vitamins and minerals. Each meal you take should be smaller but you may have 5 or 6 meals instead 3 meals a day.

Exercise is very important to control diabetes. Daily brisk walking or jogging for at least 40 to 60 minutes is ideal. Such exercise will consume lots of energy and sugar levels come down accordingly.

Mental stress aggravates diabetes. Lead a stress free life by adopting relaxation techniques like music meditation, yoga and breathing exercises.

Consult a diabetologist and get prescribed for medication if necessary and comply with the doctor's advise scrupulously.

Please remember that the most important person in managing your diabetes is Y O U.

Your are in serious risk.

Diabetes is a serious disease that you cannot treat on your own. Your doctor will help you develop a diabetes treatment plan that is right for you -- and that you can understand. You may also need other health care providers on your diabetes treatment team, including a podiatrist,( the study of diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity.) nutritionist, eye doctor, and a diabetes specialist (endocrinologist).

Treatment of diabetes requires keeping close watch over your blood sugar levels (and keeping them at a goal set by your doctor) with a combination of medications, exercise, and diet. By paying close attention to what and when you eat, you can minimize or avoid the "seesaw effect" of rapidly changing blood sugar levels, which can require quick changes in medication dosages, especially insulin.

If you are obese you can do a great deal to reduce your chance of developing the disease by slimming down if you are overweight. This is especially true if diabetes runs in your family.

In fact, studies have shown that exercise and a healthy diet can prevent the development of type 2 diabetes in people with pre-diabetes -- a condition that often develops prior to full-blown type 2 diabetes.

The medications metformin (Glucophage) and acarbose (Precose) have also been shown to be effective in preventing diabetes in those at risk.

Thank you, i showed her to a diabetologist who has prescribed her with tab. Glycomet GP-1 (1-0-1) and has advised for a recheck after 10 days.

he has also advised on brisk walking, cutting down on sugar but he insists on having rice and not excluding it from her meal.

I started off like this last year with figures F 290 and PP 390 and A1C 13.. By food and exercise I brought the level down to 135, 150, and 10 in 20 days. Since then, I am under control now A1C 5.1. So it not necessary to have drugs first.

hi friend,

you have to add more vegetbles/fibre foods in your food itmes morning tiffen, luch, night supper too, try to reduce atleast 50% of rice and wheat items in the food, from your current intake level. and avoid maximum sugar /sweet items.

you can see the miracle blood test report considerably. apartfrom this, you must have minimum 30 -40 minutes walking.

it is enough.

best of luck.
