  • Your fasting blood glucose is still too high. Your post-prandial levels suggest the medication has helped to control your blood glucose levels. You need to discuss the way forward with a health professional. You may be able to reduce your medication, however the first thing to determine is what is keeping your fasting levels too high? Is it due to a rebound effect - that your liver is releasing glucose to counter potential hypos at night for instance? Or, are you consuming too much carbohydrate?

Be careful if you decide to reduce your carbohydrate intake in the evenings, to avoid possible hypoglycaemia.

How does your diet compare to keeping your carbohydrate intake between 10 and 14 portions per day (1 portion = 10g carbohydrate), ideally 3 meals x 4 carb portions? Follow this link If you eat more carbohydrate than this, it may account for your high fasting blood glucose readings.

Eat low GI carbs, reducing intake of fructose too which glycosylates haemoglobin seven times as much as glucose. Follow this link

Make up the balance of your meals with natural, additive-free, unprocessed protein and fat foods such as meat, poultry, fish, seafood, eggs, cheese, coconut oil, palm oil (not hydrogenated), olive oil, butter, duck fat, goose fat, and lard.

  • Thanks for your suggestion and advice.

  • At present you are cured of diabetes. You can stop the Glycomet, but regularly check your sugar & weight, And do not any food which contains sugar content.

  • But what is your question? At least with my limited ability in language I am unable to understand.

  • Shall I stop my medicine ?

  • No. Only your doctor can advise after taking into account a detailed pathological reports, including those that are key markers for diabetes.

  • I hope at this level, diabetic problem could be managed. But not to stop medicines without approval of your Dr.

    wish u happy living.
