Prolonged use of Insulin causes WATER RETENTION. Is it true?

I am not on insulin but as far as I know,water retention is not reported as a side effect.However,let us see if someone else in the forum has any such experience.

i am on insulin for nearly 10 yrs but water retention is not seen. in fact i crave for water during sugar reversal time --around 2 am /but can any body explain water retention WHAT it is??

I am on Human Mixtard 40 IU/ml for the past one year 10ml in the morning before breakfast, 10ml before lunch and 10ml before dinner. I have till today not had any water retention problem or other problems besides improvement.

I used to be on tablets such as Metfromin but since being on insulin I am feeling the benifits.
