vk1959 in reply to rinkusunny

Please do not take any additoinal medicine, only physiotherapy can cure this. We diabetics should move our shoulders daily to prevent this. In your case , even though it is very pain full slowly try to move your shoulder, orelse it will get worst. But don't worry it is not a serious issue. I had this problem two years back and suffered for nearly a months time....most imp. is check and control your sugar level.

Yes, only physiotherapy can help. Find a trained one. In the meantime u can move slowly in circulatory form both clock/anti clockwise, and move keeping it parallel to ground. I had it got a grt relief by physio.

Halo Friend, It is curable by adopting the following simple exercise.

Just in the morning, raise your hands upward[as for as possible at the initial stage] and put down. Like this you have to do for 50 times daily. Further, by using pulley you can pull from right and left [Just like taking Water from the well] by both hands. One more doing is by using RED INFRA light to the affected area, your frozen shoulder will be cured. It has gone, poyuduthe, pouenthe,

I got rid of frozen shoulder through Laser treatment by a physiotherapist. , in about 10 days. Touch wood, there is no recurrence of the excruciating pain I used to have before the treatment.

There is nothing to worry on the shoulder or joints pain. There are simple excercises for this. I had pain/ stiff joints ( hip and shoulder) about 15 years back. suffered for few months. Visited Physio therapist few days. Though there was some relief, I got full cure with my excercise/ yoga.

Suryanamaskar is very good for all teh joints to be flexible. Shoulder movements rotation and movements of hand up and down and front and back will be very helpful.

I suggest to consult a yoga teacher and prcatice regularly. I forgot my joint pains for years .

Do the clockwise and anticlockwise exercise at least 10 times every half hour, it will do you good.

Control your blood sugar levels. Keep fasting BS & PP with in the prescribed ranges. Frozen shoulder will automatically go away. After which keep doing a little bit of arms excercises

This is a common problem with Diabetics. Just do some loosening exercises, shoulder rotations clockwise and anti clockwise. Join a gym and do regular exercises this will prevent recurring. Most important is patience and perseverance. Avoid pain killers and quack medicines. Ofcourse, some Ayurvedic massage may help.

I have also faced this problem. It will take few months for recovery. Though doc prescribes pain killer medicines, however it is better to have a pulley and place it on any higher place/wall and do exercise on a rope by pushing by both hand alternately.

do not get any help of medicine from any doctor.i had had frozen shoulder (right) in the year 2007.A doctor who is also my close friend told me to do a course of exercise.i followed his instruction and everyday i used to do physical exercise(mainly stretching both hands ,in various directions.i strictly followed for two years and now i am 99%cured.yet i always take that course of exercise.better you go to some doctor who has an masters on physical medicine.he will show you the methods of exercise.do not take any medine.

Try to reduce your blood sugar to normal level by diet, exercise and medications.

Pain is treated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) and steroid injections. Steroid injections plus physical therapy can improve your motion.

It can take a few weeks to see progress. It may take as long as 6 - 9 months for complete recovery. Physical therapy is intense and needs to be done every day.

I have experienced remarkable relief and cure for my frozen shoulder with an ayurvedic prescription given by a venerable lady I greatly respect from Jodhpur.

Take 50 gms each of Sugar CAndy, AShwagandha, Surnjaan Siri, Soot(Dry. Ginger,Sonti in Telugu) and pulverise them separately. Afterwards mix the powders together to make a chooran On empty stomach take one teaspoonful of this chooran with hot milk or hot tea every day for about two or three months. You will find significant relief.

First take care of BS control following Allopathy then Ayurveda them hoeopathy. help in kitchen for making pest of Ginger and other spices with the help hand stone grinder.

the problem will go for ever and can get good food from kitchen rather thanusing reay pack color contaminated spices.

Do the following:-

1. Reduce your blood glucose level, HbA1C to 6-7.

2. before doing any physiotherapy, heat the painful joint with wet hot towel (dip the small towel in hot water and squeeze it before heating the shoulder)

3. Face a wall, stretching your both arms at 90 degree to your body and touch the wall with fingers of your both hand. Now walk your fingers up the wall to your maximum & try touching your arms/ body to the wall vertically exerting some extra pressure against pain). (10 times)

4. Drop your arms side ways to horizontal position (10 times ) (your body and arms still touching wall )

5. Place one hand on a dining table or on any raised object, bend your back forward and hang arm of your affected shoulder vertically downwards. Now move your affected arm like a pendulum both to left and right side about 2-3 ft from body. Then make circular motion with your hand horizontally clockwise & anticlockwise (10 times each) keeping shoulder loose.

6. Take a long towel / cloth & hold the two ends keeping it on back of your body (one hand holding from front side near shoulder and other side lower down from your back). Pull & push the towel up and down 10 times.

You have to do this and work slightly extra against pain to get maximum benefit.

A frozen shoulder is curable provided you keep your blood sugar level in control, go for physiotherapy help, and do the shoulder excercises as prescribed with patience. Additional medication may be rquiered only as an SOS measure for pain mamagement. Don't lose heart as it may take time.

I am diabetic and frozen shoulder is part of diabetic regime. I too have gone through it. For the first time, I went through physiotherapy and it was good sufferance. I learn my lesson. An now whenever I get frozen shoulder, just do simple exercises as advised and wait for 6 months to 1 year and the frozen shoulder goes away.

The first instance of frozen shoulder was very painful, but the later episodes were of very low intensity.

I had also similar problem while I was serving in Shillong, Meghalaya. I went for physio therapy who has recommended to see a general physician to get administered some pain killer and thereafter he started therapy followed by simple exercises with minimum and maximum limits. I was cured within 7 days and I felt the delay was on my part to get physio therapy. You may also consult your local physio therapist.

Frozen shoulders can get 90 to 95% better over time (2.5 to 3 years). Why it happens or why it disappears no proper explanation in available. It takes about three years, as has been my experience. I also read a lot about it on the net. There is no medicine or therapy to cure it but can only assuage symptomatically. There is TENS machine (Trans Cutaneous Nerve Stimulation) available, then if do at home, it would get you some relief without any medicines. But I am not aware if the machine is locally readily available. But if you have a relative or friend in Europe or in Gulf or in South East Asia , you can ask him to get one for you. All physiotherapists use that machine to hep you and charge you about 150 to 1000 per session depending on their reputation. The machine (for home use) is about 50 to 80 Euro for German make, the Chinese could be half of that. Try that. And do not kill yourself with chemicals/ medicines for pain when someone prescribes you an anti inflammatory or any other neuro or nerve drug to control frozen shoulder. There is no medicine to cure it, please know it.

You are absolutely right. Frozen Shoulders get better over a period of time. I also suffered from frozen shoulders few years back when I was not aware of my DMT2. Consulted the orthopedic as well as neurologist and was prescribed Methyl cobalamin, diclofenac and calcium supplement. Physiotherapist also advised some exercise and bath with bearable hot water . But it has not completed relieved me from frozen shoulder. It has gone over a period of 2~3 years with control of BS level.

rajeevpandey100 profile image
rajeevpandey100 in reply to ranj

I know. I have undergone through the drills of moving from doctor to doctors. Finally over time it got cured. The machine that they use at physiotherapists/ clinics is the TENS, which is quite common these days for pain management without medicines, especially neuro pain. Methyl Cobal etc hardly works.

Mr Rinkusunny. Permanent cure for frozen shoulder is only simple regular exercises which u can do in a Jim under

supervision of physiotherapist. I have spoiled my six month's nights without sleep. Don't waste time in other medicine/treatment.

Pain is treated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) and steroid injections. Steroid injections plus physical therapy can improve your motion. Risk factors for frozen shoulder, such as diabetes or thyroid problems, should also be treated.
