Your sugar levels are good.I suggest you go for a morning walk for about 40 minutes before 7 Am/You will feel energetic during rest of the day/As a long term diabetic I am offering some general suggestions which you may consider based on suitability to you.

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder which is a result of the pancreatic gland in our body either produces little or no insulin or the body has developed resistance to insulin. In both cases, the body cells do not receive the glucose needed for production of energy because insulin is essential for glucose to enter the cells. This results in the blood sugar levels to increase beyond acceptable levels, though your body cells are starved for glucose. This condition is very bad for our well being and over long term may result in severe complications.

Controlling blood sugar levels is a tough job but it is not impossible if you realize that every thing is in your own hands. This is so,because though you may get good advise from doctors and dieticians,it is ultimately Y O U that will have to take all the necessary steps to successfully control diabetes.I am giving certain general suggestions based on my personal experience which you may consider and adopt based on your personal choice.

Diet plays a very important role in managing diabetes. You should reduce intake of foods that are rich in carbohydrates like sweets, rice, wheat, other grains ,potato, beet and other root vegetables rich in starch. You should eat more of vegetables, sprouts, greens and salads that give you lot of fiber, vitamins and minerals. Each meal you take should be smaller but you may have 5 or 6 meals instead 3 meals a day.

Exercise is very important to control diabetes. Daily brisk walking or jogging for at least 40 to 60 minutes is ideal. Such exercise will consume lots of energy and sugar levels come down accordingly.

Mental stress aggravates diabetes. Lead a stress free life by adopting relaxation techniques like music meditation, yoga and breathing exercises.

Consult a diabetologist and get prescribed for medication if necessary and comply with the doctor's advise scrupulously.

Please remember that the most important person in managing your diabetes is Y O U.

You have got diabetic neuropathy. Diabetic neuropathy is the result of nerve ischemia (diminished supply of oxygenated blood) due to microvascular disease, direct effects of hyperglycemia on neurons, and intracellular metabolic changes that impair nerve function.

Pregabalin is used to relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves) that can occur in your arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet, or toes if you have diabetes.

Hi Veerabhadrappa,

Your FBS & PPBS values are not bad. Please tell how much is your HbA1c; that may reveal more information.

IF YOU ARE DIABETIC FOR LONG PERIOD OR IF YOU HAD VERY HIGH DIABETES YOUR PAIN/NUMBNESS IN FEET IS DUE TO DIABETIC NEUROPATHY & WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO IS TO BRING DOWN YOUR BLOOD SUGAR TO NORMAL LEVELS.

TAKING MEDICINES ALONE WILL NOT BRING DOWN BLOOD SUGAR ALWAYS. YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR FOOD HABITS & LIFE STYLE ALSO TEMPORARILY TILL CURE.

The text below is a "COPY&PASTE STUFF" from my previous replies to some others.

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SEEN IT, KINDLY IGNORE THIS.

You can EVEN cure your diabetes yourself like me.

Diabetes is a fundamental disorder. It is comparable with low voltage in an electric circuit. In both cases all connected subsystems will under-perform and will fail in due course. It will affect SEX life also, if diab is not contained. Diab impairs the glucose (SUGAR) & oxygen supply to ALL CELLS of the patient. You cannot compensate the resultant weakness with liquor, food or medicines.

A DIABETES PATIENT (also known as A DIABETIC) need NOT starve. PROPER or APPROPRIATE food can be eaten EVEN FULL STOMACH THRICE DAILY! Try to understand diabetes & conquer it.

While following the Long-wheat diet explained in the article referred below, non-vegetarians can have MEAT/FISH/EGG in moderate quantities as side-dishes/curries.

I was diabetic from 2006; but NOT diabetic from 2009. I studied Diabetes thoroughly, because it was to solve MY problem.

Do you want to see my experience and blood sugar history from 2006 to 2013? Those are reported at: appropedia.org/Diabetes_mel... If you want only HOW TO DO, GO TO appropedia.org/Diabetes_mel...

Please report your future experience (good or bad) here for the benefit of others.

This is a common problem with diabetics as their nerves become weak resulting in continuous pain. Consult your doctor for taking vitamins for the nervous system (vitamin E supplements) such as Neurobion etc.AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS START EXERCISING. DO CYCLING EVERYDAY. Do it religiously for a month and then post your experience here.
