Are you type 1 or type 2? Never heard of the medication you are on, you need to speak to your diabetic team and get this sorted out.

My blood glucose levels used to be around 312 for quite some time and I was sent to the hospital three times last year by my GP who was extremely worried. When I was admitted to hospital for the first time the nurses (general nurses who attend to the first triage) did the finger prick test and my blood glucose levels were still the same. The American way of measuring glucose levels baffles everyone here in England including doctors and nurses alike. In the old way of measuring glucose levels, my readings were so far off the scale that the meter simply read 'HI'. The tablet you mentioned which you take at breakfast I have never heard of but you do really need to be assessed by someone who is specially trained to deal with diabetes. There are too many people out there who do not take the whole process of being diabetic and its treatment seriously and, unfortunately, fatalities each year because of such an attitude run into the thousands. At first, you may be given oral anti-diabetic medication such as metformin yet if your blood sugars remain high they will put you on some type of insulin to help reduce your readings. I wish you well.
