Hello everyone, I have a question I hope you can answer, I haven't been very well for some time, can't eat sometimes, and when I do I get sick, I thought if you were not eating, your sugar level would go down mine goes high, not on meds its diet controlled, I've managed to eat some yogurt, will test in 2 hours see what happens. Unless you are a certified diabetic dietician don't give advice on what a person should eat. I've been diabetic most of my life and was never told the diet you described ever ! My dietician and specialists say a well rounded diet from every food group is best. Grains included. I follow that and am always in a healthy A1C level. Not all people need the same diet.

Thanks curlymac

I thought the foods were going against everything we should be eating, I've been type ii for 8 years with no medication, always been below 7 just healthy eating, been a bit out of sync recently due to another illness, so has gone to 9 gp told me to leave it for a while thanks for advice, oh yes no nurse ever told me what to eat, just stay away from sugary and fatty foods. This sounds good. A person should see the doctor before going on any type of diet, though.

Hi concerned

Thank you for all your most welcome advice, problem now begins omg it never ends, before I got liver disease 2 years ago, I was doing weights at the gym, walkingb1 hour daily, anything in fact to raise heart rate, I then got gastric bleed losing 5 pints of blood, it was due to veins or varices as they are called, and they burst, then told no more gym, nothing that gets heart rate up, from time to time I walk at a slow pace, but dont think it's enough to help with diabetes, really don't know.
