Hi I was diagnosed with T2 in May 2024 following two A1c readings of 6.7 (I'm in Canada) this was after 10 years of pre diabetes. ( I also had a NSTEMI in early Nov 23 followed by a triple bypass late Nov 23 went back to work late January 24.)In may 2024 I began taking metformin at 250mg twice a day titrated to 500mg twice a day (it was supposed to be 1000mg twice a day but long story short it's 500mg 2xs day.)

In August I was put on 10mg Jardiance for mild heart failure.

In November my latest A1c was 5.7 which is considered normal

In December my EF was 55% which is also considered normal ........so all the drugs are working .

Curious about my diet I started wearing a CGM a few days ago.

Over the past 8 days I've had 4 low blood sugar alarms at night just as I've fallen asleep and the readings have been between 3.4 and 3.8 mmol/l

My questions are could this be caused by the early evening dose of metformin and should I consider only taking the full dose just once a day?

Is low blood sugar dangerous for type 2 diabetes folk?

I will make an appointment to see my GP if necessary.

Thank you
