Dental abscess

Hello. I had my bottom two and upper left wisdom tooth removed on the 12th august. I developed dry socket in the bottom two and had to revisit the hospital three times to get them packed. I was on codeine, paracetamol and brufen for recovery and amitriptyline as I have TMJ. 48 hours ago I got a raging temperature of 38.5 had pain in one of the sites, an awful taste, kept going funny and loosing my balance, I was confused and shaking and dry wrenching as I had nothing on my stomach. As advised by 111 I went to A&E who told me I had a dental abscess and gave me two lots of antibiotics. He told me to ring my dentist on Friday to get the abscess drained. I am just worried I may have sepsis and that if I do the antibiotics will work? Can anyone help?

Take the antibiotics exactly as prescribed, together with regular paracetamol two four times a day, unless you’re taking other medications with paracetamol in them. If your condition deteriorates go straight back to A & E otherwise get urgent appointment with your dentist.
