Bad pain in gums
I've the same disease lost most of my bone. Dentist dosnt understand why I'm in so much pain. Swelling is becoming painful now too. I'm there today for yet another clean. Has your dentist not referred you to a specialist yet?
I'm the same 😦. Have gum disease and the pain is excruciating 😖 x dentist has booked me in for a deep clean and given antibiotics. But I just want them all taken out and have dentures as terrified of extractions. My gp has referred me to the hospital with a view to seeing oral surgeon and having all removed under general anaesthetic. I've been prescribed morphine but even that is not taking the pain away 😱 can't eat can't drink can't sleep .
HI I was seen by a dentist then referred to the specialist who told me I have periodontal disease they put me through a dental care place which involved 2 extractions and 4 sessions of deep cleaning I went thru the whole treatment plan feeling really positive and hoping for good outcome two follow up's latter the Periodontal disease came back and now I'm back on my 2nd lot of antibiotics along with all the home care of flossing/brushing/ wriggling/ and salt water rinses during all the treatment's and still continue to do so along with Nurofen /Panadol I'm still suffering with pain......Just a question to all those who are suffering with the same disease DO ANY OF YOU HAVE TONGUE PIECING OR SMOKE!!!
Hi. I have similar problem but specialist quote was £1300 +. Which dentist and how much approximately please?
hi I had two visit's with the specialist $400 plus a few other visit's with the specialist for the Gum infection and deep clean....I also had the option to do it thru the specialist or stay with the dentist so I stayed with the dentist because they have payment plans where as specialist don't
the specialist are expensive and they were front payment's I had a care plan set up thru them and had 2 visit's with then for $400 but the rest of the treatment was through the dentist I've had 4 sessions of deep cleaning plus two follows ups but the disappointing thing about it was the infection came back again so she put me back on antibiotics an still no improvement so now I'm just relying on home remedies/pain killers and prayer to help
Did u have the extractions under general anaesthetic? I have the gum disease too . I didn't think it went away once you had it ? Yes I do smoke 😕 x I've now found another dentist who has done one extraction which has relieved some of the pain. But still having to take the strong painkillers 🙈. She is going to remove another and put partial denture in. But I also have oral surgeon appointment in October so in two minds how to proceed really x. I think I would still just prefer all out under general 🤔x
I didn't have general anaesthetic, I also did a google search to find out it doesn't go away but you can control it, I still smoke plus I did mention from my other comment if anyone had tongue piecing..... other then smoking I also heard that Stress aggravates it when I first saw signs of it in 2008 I just took it as a sore throat and toothache not realizing what it was then it came back again in 2016 still not knowing refused to see the dentist I took codeine for the pain and suffered with it for months before deciding to see the dentist to find out that I have Periodontal disease I've you-tube it to find others with the same problem they recommend home treatment's works for them at the moment I'm trying tea tree adding 3 drops of that onto you toothpaste before brushing also when flossing put a bit of T Tree onto your fingertips rub it up and down then floss I here using that for 30 days helps reduce infection.
I have had gum disease for a while now and have been seeing a periodontist, referred by my dentist. I am at the stage that he suggests removing the tooth and or flap surgery, which I an not happy to do. I have looked further into the treatments available and found the Al-FaPerio clinic, who provide laser surgery using Waterlase. I was impressed by Dr Al Falaki's YouTube interviews: youtu.be/JmFmjAC_bow
With this in mind, I have booked an appointment for a consultation with her. Unfortunately the earliest appointment is in December.
I will let you know how I get on, if anyone is interested.
Wow that's a long time to wait what do you do in the meantime? I've suffered with Periodontist disease for 5 years now, and after a few dental treatment's gone wrong I decided to try home remedies just by using T Tree oil on a string of floss and again on tooth paste plus regular salt water rinses for 30 days I've been using T tree oil to add to my usual tooth brushing method for a week in a half using T Tree I'm already noticing major changes my taste buds are back I can eat and drink with no pain I've mastered what works for my Gums and Teeth and loving it I've never seen my Gums/teeth look so healthy it's great
Yes it is a long wait, but I hope and believe it will be worth it. I like your tips for helping yourself.
You may find mine helpful. My routine is oil-pulling using 1 tbsp of coconut oil with either 5 drops of oregano oil or 2 sprays of colloidal silver. Then use salt water. Brush then water floss and then manual floss using oregano oil solution. Because my immune system is compromised, I believe due to stress, grief (I lost my sister who had cancer of the jaw) and living with mould in my flat, I supplement on liposomal vitamin C and other supplements.
I recently succumbed to antibiotics as the bill from my holistic dentist to sort out my recent gum infection was unaffordable given the wait to see the new periodontist. I have stopped all added sugar from my diet as I believe this helped to accelerate the infection. So far all is under control.
It is a lot of work and worth it.
Regards
ps. If you decide to use the Al-FaPerio clinic, make sure you ask to only see Dr Al Falaki. I wasted my time going there initially as I was told all the periodontists were suitable for me. I prefer to stick with Dr Al Falaki as she has the most experience with this technique and trained the others.
To the professionals the more in pain u are the better it is for them, (money in the Bank) ....i found my own remedy and found it to be the best for me...why because i can lay on the side that gave me all the grief pain free an loving it.....best thing any gum infection sufferer, can do for themselves, is to avoid professional scammers, an to give self healing remedies a go
