Tooth root left in

Had tooth extraction today but they couldn't get root out said go back in two weeks if gums healed is it safe to leave in opinions experience please I'd think it will rot????

I think you would be better asking your dentist.I joined this dental forum for advice a while back but have noticed ever since that no-one ever seems to get replies to their posts whatever it is.

I’ve worked in dentistry for ten years and yes it’s very common to leave a root in if it can’t be extracted. It can work it’s way up to the gum over time and then be easily removed later. It’s much kinder than trying to either dig it out or do a surgical extraction.
