Gums decaying

So my gums have been bleeding for a long time and now my gums are starting to decay and there are gaps appearing between my teeth, i have not been to the dentist in about 4 years maybe longer and unfortnately since going to university going to a dentist now is just not possible with the costs of paying for things, help i need advice!

I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say your gums are decaying. Do yoy mean receding? Unfortunately I think you need to see a dentist as it sounds like you have periodontitis (gum disease) Try to find an NHS dentist if money is a problem or do you live near a dental hospital? You could maybe try one but they may only be able to offer emergency treatment only depending on there waiting lists. Unfortunately it's not something a mouthwash can fix. Its sounds like professional treatment is required but i wouldn't leave it too long as your teeth can eventually loosen and fall out if it is indeed gum disease.

Thank you for your help I will have money coming through within the next week and will try and get into a dentist next week sometime, my bottom front teeth already feel like they are loosening. I'm trying to brush every hour and the bleeding is reducing every time but it still feels very sore and not nice

Ignore the bleeding. It is a symptom of gum disease. Maybe get interdental brushes or floss to clean inbetween your teeth too. If you smoke, giving up or at least cutting down drastically can help as it is the second biggest cause of gum disease after plaque.

Yeah I don't smoke as such but I will have a few every so often. And yeah I will be going to the dentist when I get my loan through as I could probably do with a check up after about 4 years so I will still go and get it checked out and just see what they recommend

Have you tried oil pulling. Lot of people have attested that it does miracle. I am also trying it now. 2nd day today. Hoping that my hopeless gum and bones will show improvement.

U can google for oil pulling. Lot of articles r available. Best of luck.

Don't bother with the oil pulling. You have to rinse it around your mouth for 20 minutes. It takes under 5 minutes to brush and floss your teeth. Oil pulling WILL NOT CLEAN YOUR TEETH. Natural antiseptics can assist slightly but it is the actual physical removal of plaque with a brush that cleans teeth. I have seen patients with gum disease that have had cleaning done and gums improved but then go away and do not return for a long time. When they eventually return they've told me they have been oil pulling instead of flossing etc and guess what? Their gums are awful again!

Please seek professional advice.

yeah i am booked in with the dentist in the morning even if it did cost me £55 just for a check up but they are looking better the gaps are lessening and they are not hurting as much but it has just took brushing for a little longer and a little more forcefully i mean i brought some cordysol to try and help but yeah just brushing twice a day helps and i will see what the dentist says tomorrow

Don't bother with oil pulling it is just a silly gimmick, keep your teeth ad gums clean, if possible buy an electric brush with a round head, use interdental brushes and floss before brushing your teeth, if you cannot brush your teeth after a meal sluice your moth will plain water, massage your gums gently when you can, hope this helps

Don't bother with the corsodyl. It masks problems and can cause staining and loss of taste.

Hope your dentist sorts it out .

I would advise a water flosser, like waterpick, and to use it with salted water, it is the best way to reduce the plaque and maintain the level of bacteria in the mouth as salt fights it, use it at hte end of the day if you can't use it during the day after meals. It has made a big difference on me. This and also, everytime after eating (can't stress this enough, it has to be everytime!), floss between the teeth with a dental floss and then brush, use a soft brush, and massage your gums with it and in the end don't forget the tongue. And then go to your dentist for regular cleans,like every 4 months, it won't be expensive (60€ in my case). Try this approach, or other for that matter, keep assessing it. I guess the main matter is trying to maintain the bacteria level in your mouth as low as possible. Oh and give up sugar and cigars. Hope it helps.
